I am an avid cigar smoker and outdoors kind of guy, which is good because if I am going to smoke a cigar, I WILL be outside. I live in the middle of the mid-west, so winters can be very cold and blustery with blowing snow, etc. This hat is lined with the softest rabbit fur and the ear flaps hang low enough that your ears will never feel the bite of the wind. On days where the ear protection is not needed, they can be folded up and snapped onto the top/sides. Now, all I have to do is figure out how to tuck my toes up under this hat as well. Then I will be perfectly warm and comfortable.

I got this hat because of the aesthetics. I won’t lie. You know, kinda gitchy and retro. And I think I’ll be loving this (starting tomorrow, if the weather reports hold). This is snug and warm. Which for me will work out. And I am no expert or hunter…hell, I’ve never owned a rabbit…but I think this may actually be rabbit fur. But this combined L/XL thing that some manufacturers do really peeves me. I really prefer an XL. It works this time for this item at this time of year. But for other items and times…? We really need to get away from the one size fits all mentality, because that rarely works. However, that is the only reason this product loses a star from me.

Iv always been a fan of these style of hats, working cold winter nights they always kept my face and neck warm while outside,I decided to purchase a new winter hat after having my old one for many years, when I opened the packaged I was shocked to see how nice the quality and heft this hat has, it fits extremely well and itβs very well made hat.

Great hat! Exactly what you want definitely warmer than other trapper hats. 4 stars because of the shipping. The first hat got lost so I bought a second hat which also arrived late. Size was a tad small for me but not enough for me to worry about it, if you’re in between sizes go bigger.
